Over the years, I have had many discussions with fellow collectors over which is the true first edition - the Angus and Robertson edition or the Bobs-Merrill edition from the USA.

I can now put this argument to rest as I have recently acquired some letters sent from both Idriess and Walter Cousins (of A&R) to a mutual friend in Chicago. In one of these letters Walter Cousins writes that he has included a copy of Horrie the Wog Dog and that it will soon be released in the USA under the title of Dog of the Desert.
